SRIXON'S DEMSEY AND PARK EARN 2008 PGA TOUR CARD
ATLANTA, GA, December 6, 2007 - Srixon had two staff professionals earn their 2008
PGA Tour cards on Monday after playing a grueling six days of
tournament pressure golf to determine where the field of 166
professionals would earn their living next year. There were 26 PGA Tour
cards handed out at Orange Country National in Winter Garden, Fla.,
including Srixon’s Jin Park and Todd Demsey, who finished fourth and eighth, respectively.
Demsey fired a final round 64, the lowest round of the day, with his Srixon Z-URC golf ball, Srixon Pro 100 forged blades and Srixon WG 706 wedges
to make one of the biggest moves of the tournament. His final round
leaped him from T-31st to eighth place. The former NCAA champion is not
new to the PGA Tour or Nationwide Tour. He has 35 PGA Tour starts,
including one top-25 finish, and 196 Nationwide Tour starts. In 2002, a
tumor was found on his brain, which required two operations to remove
it. In 2007, Demsey played the Nationwide Tour, made 20 cuts, recorded
2 top-10s and earned $122,000 using Srixon equipment.
Park, of South Korea, had a solid week of golf using his Srixon Z-URS
golf ball. He fired rounds of 70-66-71-67-68-68. Park, a former
standout at Arizona State University, played the Asian Tour in 2007 and
finished fourth at the Singapore Masters amongst a star-studded field
that featured several of the world’s Top 10. He will be a rookie in
2008 on the PGA Tour.
