ATLANTA, GA, November 6, 2006 -
Srixon Staff Professional Jim Furyk capped his career season with
another great performance finishing 2nd place at THE TOUR Championship
at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta on Sunday. Furyk finished at 8-under
par for a 272 total (69-71-67-65), playing with a full bag of Srixon
equipment; Srixon’s Z-URC golf ball, Srixon’s W-506 driver, I-506 irons
and Srixon wedges.
The world’s
number 2 player continued his incredible streak with his 8th top 4
finish in his last 8 events and his 12th top 4 finish for the
2006 season. Since switching to Srixon at the start of the year, Furyk
ends the year in 2nd place in Scoring Average (68.86), and leads in
total Top 10 finishes for the year (13). He has earned a career best
$7.21 million in prize money and further solidifies his 2nd place
ranking on the PGA Tour Money List. The 2003 U.S. Open Champion has 12
career victories and is one of only 5 multiple winners on the PGA Tour
in 2006—He won the Canadian Open in September and the Wachovia
Championship in May of this year.
Srixon Staff Professionals have amassed 31 Top 10s on the PGA TOUR this
season including Furyk’s two wins and John Rollins’ victory at the B.C.
Open.
