ATLANTA, GA, September 22, 2005 -
Srixon Staff Professional Michael Harris has claimed the 2005
Canadian Tour’s Order of Merit title, cemented by his second win in as
many events on the Canadian Tour. Harris won the final tournament of
the season, Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort Pro Am Classic at
Thundering Waters Golf Club in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada on
September 18th. Harris, who had to play 32 holes on Sunday due to
Friday’s weather delay, was able to come back from five shots behind on
the final day of play. Harris sunk a birdie putt on the final hole
playing with Srixon’s Z-UR golf ball and I-302 irons, and shot a
10-under par, 278 total (63-71-75-69).
It has been a
whirlwind four weeks for the Michigan native and Srixon Full Staff
player. His victory at the Canadian Tour’s Bay Mills Open on August
28th earned him an exemption into the second stage of the PGA Tour’s
qualifying school in addition to starts on the Nationwide Tour’s
Alberta Classic and the PGA Tour’s Canadian Open. He made the most of
those starts finishing T-10 in Alberta and T-21 at the Canadian Open.
Harris followed up those starts with his win Sunday in Niagara Falls.
“My
hats off to Srixon’s R&D who developed this unbelievable golf
ball,” said Michael Harris. “Playing with the Z-UR this season has made
a huge difference in my game and helped me achieve my best season as a
professional. I’ve picked up very important distance off the tee, and
have been able to play shots in windy conditions that hold their line
and trajectory beautifully,” added Harris.
Srixon
golf balls have earned 24 wins across the globe and a total of 18 Top
10 finishes already this year on the PGA Tour, including 11 Top 5
finishes.
