ATLANTA, GA, August 11, 2008 -
Srixon’s Henrik Stenson and Steve Flesch finished tied for fourth and sixth, respectively, in the year’s final major championship, the rain-soaked PGA Championship at Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Township, Mich.
Stenson played very consistent all week, finishing with a four-day total of 1-over 281 using the Srixon I-701 irons and Z-UR Series golf ball. Flesch finished at 2-over 282 using the Srixon Z-UR Series golf ball. Stenson and Flesch have both recorded two top-10 finishes in the majors this year. Stenson finished T-3rd last month at the British Open and Flesch finished T-5th at the Masters in April.
Srixon’s Jim Furyk has earned one of the eight spots on this year’s U.S. Ryder Cup team. He finished fourth in total Ryder Cup points. For the European team, Stenson and Miguel Angel Jimenez, who plays the Srixon Z-UR Series golf ball, are currently in the top six on the point list.
The Z-URC golf ball is designed for enhanced spin control without sacrificing distance off the tee, the Z-URC features the softest urethane-elastomer cover Srixon has ever developed. And at an astounding .020-inch thin, it is also one of the thinnest covers in the industry. Yet underneath this incredible cover technology, the Z-URC features the same firepower as the Z-UR and Z-URS — a large energetic gradient growth core, which produces tremendous velocity, combined with optimal launch conditions.
