SRIXON INTRODUCES I-506® IRONS TO CLUB LINEUP
Putting Impact Science into the Hands of Shotmakers

ATLANTA, GA, August 9, 2005
Srixon Sports, a leader in innovative golf club technology, today announces the launch of Srixon’s I-506 irons to its club lineup. The I-506 features Srixon’s tour back cavity design, forged out of soft 1025 mild carbon steel. It has a classic blade profile with a thin topline and minimal offset giving it the appearance of a traditional players club. The I-506 gives the feedback and response that better players demand in their shotmaking, with all of the technology and forgiveness built into the Digital Impact Design.

“The I-506 irons demonstrates the expertise that Srixon possesses to blend the science of ball and club impact with the artisans touch for crafting scoring clubs,” said Richard Stamper, Srixon’s President. “We know through many years researching the physics behind ball/club impact that, with the modern golf ball, the ideal launch conditions are high trajectory with penetrating flight. Srixon’s proprietary Digital Impact Technology designed into the I-506 delivers exactly these conditions. This technology allows us to determine the optimal weighting and low and deep center of gravity placement in every iron which gets the ball airborne with precise distance control. At the same time, better players, for whom the I-506 is designed, will see the traditional setup profile and have the confidence to play any shot that’s demanded,” added Stamper.

The lower and deeper center of gravity (CG) of the I-506 promotes the ideal high launch angle with a penetrating ball flight while increasing the forgiveness on off-center hits. The center of gravity is also placed at a constant distance from the shaft line throughout the set which allows for more consistent distance control and greater shotmaking confidence. Furthermore, the overall playability of the I-506 is enhanced by the double radius sole with unique heel and toe cuts which ensures smooth contact through all turf conditions. Overall, the I-506 irons give you the confidence to play the shot you need while making your mis-hits more playable than with conventional irons.

The I-506 irons come standard with True Temper Dynamic Gold shafts. They are available for both right and left-handed players in 2 through pitching wedge (46 deg). Suggested retail price per set (2-PW) is $999.
