Srixon Staff Professionals Jim Furyk and Tim Clark tied for fourth
at the Cialis Western Open on Sunday, July 9, 2006 at Cog Hill Golf And
Country Club in Lemont, IL. Defending Champion Furyk relied on
Srixon’s Z-UR prototype golf ball, Srixon’s W-506 driver,
I-506 irons and Srixon wedges to shoot 9-under par, 275 total
(69-67-69-70). His third round included a dramatic hole-out for eagle
on the Par 4 8th hole. Clark played with Srixon’s Z-UR prototype
golf ball and Srixon forged irons en route to a final round field best
5-under par 66 for a 9-under 275 total (70-71-68-66).
2003
U.S. Open Champion Furyk, currently ranked 5th in the world, has had a
remarkable season since switching to Srixon this season. He has 7 Top
10 finishes this year including a win at the Wachovia Championship and
a 2nd place finish at the U.S. Open Championship. Furthermore, he has
held the number 3 ranking on the 2006 PGA TOUR money again and is now
2nd in scoring average and 4th in driving accuracy percentage (73.7%).
Furyk has over $27 million in career earnings and currently ranks 5th
all time in that category.
Clark has also
experienced an impressive season on the PGA TOUR by collecting 4 Top
10s, one of which a second place finish at The Masters. Clark is now
ranked 17th in the world and moved up 4 spots to 21st on the 2006 PGA
TOUR Money Leader list with over $1.6 million earned.
Srixon
now has 23 Top 10s on the PGA TOUR this season, two of which are Top 2
finishes in the first two majors this year: Tim Clark, The Masters and
Jim Furyk, The U.S. Open.
