Srixon Staff Professional Jim Furyk tied for second at the 106th
U.S. Open Championship on Sunday, June 18, 2006 at Winged Foot Golf
Club in Mamaroneck, New York. Furyk, who started the final day of play
just 3 strokes off the lead, fired the lowest final round score of the
top 5 finishers relying on Srixon’s W-506 driver, I-506 irons and
Srixon wedges Srixon’s Z-UR prototype. Furyk shot a 6-over par,
286 total (70-72-74-70), to finish 1 stroke back of the winner. Furyk
continues to hold his number 5 ranking in the world.
Since
switching to Srixon, Furyk, the 2003 U.S. Open Champion, has had a
banner season. He has 5 Top 3s this year, including a win at this
year’s Wachovia Championship and is ranked third on the 2006 PGA
TOUR money list. His 6 Top 10 finishes rank him third in that category.
Additionally, he is 3rd in scoring average and 4th in driving accuracy
percentage (73.7%). Furyk has now surpassed the $27 million mark in
career earnings and currently ranks 5th all time.
