Srixon’s Jim Furyk Finishes Runner-Up at 107th U.S. Open
Fires Lowest Score for Final 36-holes

ATLANTA, GA, June 18, 2007
Pennsylvania native and 2003 U.S. Open champion, Jim Furyk, was the hometown favorite at Oakmont Country Club, drawing large galleries all week during the 107th U.S. Open Championship. The No. 3 player in the world made a charge on the back nine Sunday with three straight birdies on 13, 14 and 15 but came up one shot short to finish tied for second. This is Furyk’s second year in a row finishing runner-up.

At a venue widely considered one of the toughest Open setups ever, Furyk relied on the combination of distance and control from his Srixon Z-URC golf ball and pinpoint accuracy from his Srixon I-506 irons and Srixon forged wedges. A pair of even par 70’s on Saturday and Sunday gave Furyk the lowest final 36-hole score and beat the weekend scoring average by almost 10 strokes.

Since switching to Srixon in January, 2006, Furyk has won twice and recorded 16 top-4 finishes, 12 in 2006 and 4 more in 2007, including a second place at the 2007 Colonial. He is currently ranked No. 3 in driving accuracy, No. 5 scoring average and No. 11 in greens in regulation. Furyk’s runner-up finish last week moved him to No 8 on the FedExCup Standings and number 8 on the PGA Tour Money List.
