ATLANTA, GA, May 16, 2005 -
It was yet another busy but successful weekend on the world’s
leaderboards for the Srixon golf balls with 1 win, 3 Top 5s, 2 Top 10s,
and a Top 20. Srixon Staff Professional Iben Tinning won the Ladies
European Tour’s Open de España Femenino Castellón at Panorámica Golf
and Country Club in Spain on Sunday. Tinning, who played with Srixon’s
AD333 golf ball, shot a 15-under par, 273 total (70-63-70-70) for her
third win on the Robe di Kappa Ladies European Tour. This win also
moved her up five spots to 3rd place on the European’s Solheim Cup
point standings.
Over in England, Srixon Staff
Professional Brian Davis continued his strong play this year with a 2nd
place finish after a sudden playoff at the European Tour’s Daily
Telegraph Dunlop Masters in Warwickshire. Davis, who played with
Srixon’s Z-UR prototype golf ball and I-302 irons, shot a 6-under par,
282 total (69-71-73-69) for his best finish of the season on the
European Tour. He previously placed 3rd at the PGA Tour’s Nissan Open.
On
the Champions Tour, Srixon Staff Professional Fuzzy Zoeller posted his
second best performance of the season with a Tie for 3rd place at the
Blue Angels Classic in Milton, Florida. Zoeller played with Srixon’s
Z-UR golf ball to shoot a 13-under par, 197 total (67-66-64). Srixon
Staff Professional Laura Davies played with Srixon’s Z-UR prototype
golf ball, W-403 driver, and I-302 irons to tie for 7th place at the
LPGA Tour’s Chick-fil A Charity Championship hosted by Nancy Lopez.
Davies shot an 8-under par, 280 total (66-76-69-69). On the Nationwide
Tour, Srixon Staff Professional Kyle Thompson tied for 8th place at the
Rheem Classic playing with Srixon’s Z-UR prototype golf ball and I-302
irons to shoot a 6-under par, 274 total (73-65-65-71).
Meanwhile,
on the PGA Tour, Srixon Staff Professional John Rollins played with
Srixon’s Z-UR golf ball and I-302 irons to tie for 14th place at the
EDS Byron Nelson Championship with an 8-under par, 272 total
(67-68-68-69).
Finally, another Top 5, this time at
the JLPGA Tour’s Vanale Ladies, was a tie for 5th place finish by
Srixon Staff Professional Mikiyo Nishizuka who also played with
Srixon’s Z-UR prototype golf ball to shoot a 1-under par, 215 total
(74-65-76).
Srixon staff players and the new Z-UR
golf balls have earned four wins across the globe, and a total of Ten
Top 10 finishes already this year on the PGA Tour, including six Top 5
finishes.
