ATLANTA, GA, April 10, 2006 -
Srixon Staff Professional Tim Clark worked his short game magic on
the 72nd hole of The 2006 Masters by holing out of the greenside bunker
at Augusta National’s 18th hole for a dramatic birdie and a solo
2nd place finish on Sunday, April 6, 2006. Clark, who played with
Srixon’s Z-UR prototype golf ball and Srixon forged irons, fired
4 rounds of par or better for an impressive 5-under par, 283 total
(70-72-72-69).
One of only 7 players in the 60s in
the final round, Clark displayed his hallmark precision shot making by
trusting his Srixon forged irons to knock down flags and defeat all but
one of the world’s best players. This was also Clark’s best
finish at The Masters and his second Top 3 finish at a Major
Championship (he was 3rd at the 2005 U.S. Open). Clark’s second
place finish vaults him up 15 spots in the Official world Golf Rankings
to 15th place.
Srixon Staff Professionals Jim Furyk,
Miguel Angel Jimenez, and Robert Allenby all placed in the Top 25 at
The Masters. Furyk also played with Srixon’s Z-UR prototype ball,
Srixon’s W-506 driver, I-506 irons and Srixon wedges while
Allenby played with Srixon’s Z-UR golf ball, W-403 driver and
W-403 3-wood, Srixon forged irons and Srixon wedges. Jimenez finished
T-11 with Srixon’s Z-UR prototype ball.
Srixon has now collected a total of 14 Top 10s this season.
