ATLANTA, GA, January 14, 2008 -
Srixon’s newest staff player and Nationwide Tour
member, Garth Mulroy, finished second last weekend at the Joburg Open
in Johannesburg, South Africa. Mulroy’s final round 66 earned him a
spot in a three-man playoff. The 29 year-old South African lipped out
his birdie putt on the first playoff hole and settled for runner-up
honors and a paycheck of €101310.
This
was Mulroy’s first event using the Srixon Z-URS golf ball and his
strong runner-up finish validated his off-season switch. Demonstrating
pinpoint accuracy all week and a soft touch around the green, Mulroy
finished the 4-day tournament at 13-under par. Mulory returns for the
start of the Nationwide Tour at the Movistar Panama Championship.
