ATLANTA, GA, January 8, 2008 -
Srixon announces today that it has signed PGA Tour
professional Steve Flesch to play Srixon golf balls. Flesch will
continue to play the multi-layer Z-URC golf ball this year on tour.
“I
switched to the Srixon Z-URC in the middle of 2007 for one simple
reason –it turned my season around.” Flesch said. “The Z-URC gave me
incredible control of my iron shots – I can work it however I need and
get it to stop on a dime. And it has the perfect launch conditions to
help me optimize my distance off the tee. I am now playing in all of
the 2008 major championships thanks in large part to the Z-URC”.
Flesch
switched to the Z-URC golf ball and immediately began seeing positive
results. He won the Reno-Tahoe Open in August, the Turning Stone Resort
Championship in September and finished No. 26 on the PGA Tour money
list with more than $2.2 million in earnings.
“We
are very excited to have Steve join our staff this year,” said Mike
Pai, Srixon’s Vice President of Marketing and Advertising. “Since he
switched to the Z-URC his game went to an entirely new level. Steve
paid Srixon and the Z-URC the ultimate compliment when he chose to play
it without any compensation – simply because he felt it was best for
his game. And his results speak for themselves. We look forward to
following him on tour this year as a member of the Srixon staff.”
The
popular Z-URC golf ball features a thin soft cover and the largest and
fastest core Srixon has developed. The Z-URC has a firmer feel around
the greens than the Z-URS however; it still delivers outstanding spin
and control on approach shots and around the greens that tour players
demand from a high performance golf ball.
