ATLANTA, GA, January 6, 2005 -
Srixon Sports announces today they have signed PGA Tour standout Tim Petrovic. Petrovic, a three year veteran on the PGA Tour, will play with Srixon’s I-302 irons, carry a Srixon Tour bag, wear a Srixon hat and glove, and play with a soon-to-be-released Srixon prototype golf ball.
“Tim is a great talent and the model of hard work and perseverance,” said Richard Stamper, Srixon’s President. “In just three years, Tim has established himself as one of the PGA Tour’s most consistent performers and an up-and-coming player who is destined for multiple trips to the victory circle. We believe Tim will give Srixon tremendous exposure to golf fans from all over the world when he comes down the stretch in contention,” added Stamper.
“I am very excited to start my fourth season on tour with Srixon clubs and balls,” said Petrovic. “This new Srixon golf ball is awesome. It flies long and straight with the driver, allows me to pinpoint my distances with the irons and has the touch and spin around the greens to give me confidence. The I-302 irons give me the precision that is a requirement on Tour, and have the look, feel and forgiveness I need. This is a company with great technology, resources, and support; I know I’ve made the best decision for my career,” added Petrovic.
Petrovic finished the 2004 season with earnings of over $1 million for the second consecutive season. His stellar 2004 performance included a tie for 5th at the Bank of America Colonial and two additional Top 10s. Petrovic signaled his arrival on the PGA Tour in 2003, when he finished 36th on the money list with over $1.7 million in earnings, in just his second year on tour.
Petrovic graduated from University of Hartford where he was named Division I All-America selection and is a member of that school’s Hall of Fame.
